Let me break it down for you.

First, not one single true marxist or communist will blindly say that capitalism didn't improve peoples life, in contrast with feudalism. Of course, as you perfectly said, and also Marx in the communist manifesto: "All that is solid melts into air, all that is holy is profaned, and man is at last compelled to face with sober senses his real conditions of life, and his relations with his kind". Basically, that creative destruction doesn't come without a price.

Secondly, innovation. Well, innovation serves the class that want to innovate. Exactly, in a socialist central planned economy, innovation would flourish even further than from the flawed capitalist system, by just giving EVERYONE the ability to educate and heal properly, increasing the capacity of mankind to innovate by high orders of magnitude. Not only that, innovation that serves the people. Technologies that are destined for the social good, and not for the profit of a few capitalists. In which scenario do you think people would be encouraged more: in a system that pays you a living wage for a job you don't like, and technological innovations that you and your family will probably can't afford? Or a system in which workers detemine by themselves how and what innovation the society needs, and works hardly to achieve it. Central planning enabled the USSR to go from an agrarian semi-feudal country, to be the 2nd largest economy and powerhouse in the world. You should gladly thank the central planned socialist economy for the development of communication systems, space conquest and many social rights (such as abortion, divorce, and women rights). An China, well, I would encourage you to read more, because of course China is now a capitalist country (at the expense of millions of cheap labor that work under dictatorial conditions), but you should see how that industrial capacity first took place. Yes, by a central planned economy. And I don't buy that racist retoric that is the fault of the chinese for going from a colonial state to the 1st economy of the world, maybe we should study more and hate less.

And finally, of course fertilizers, fossil fuels, and plastic WERE a good thing that enable people to live a bit more comfortably. However, at least 300 years of capitalism, and this is the best that it can deliver? Are you aware of the world around you? I'm not going to give you basic stats becuase you must be a grown person, but look, search for it, you would be surprise how with the incredible advances in technology, global population standards of living are decreasing not increasing. And another thing, with a central planned economy, on top of the amount of data that can be analysed with today's technology, plastic, fossil fuels, fertilizers, would have been a thing of the past, just because it harms the working people.

But hey, it's up to you. You want a state that it serves the elon musks, jeff bezos of the world, or a state that serves the working people and plans accurately how to solve their problems. It's up to you.
